2026 Around Hayling Island Race
The 2026 Around Hayling Island Race attracted a diverse fleet of traditional and modern rowing boats, showcasing skill, endurance, and teamwork across one of the South Coast's premier coastal rowing events.
Strong winds and challenging sea conditions resulted in a modified 20 km half-island course, taking competitors from Northney Marina to West Hayling (around Mulberry Habour) before returning. The demanding conditions tested crews throughout the race, rewarding tactical decision-making, efficient boat handling, and sustained endurance.
Race Format
The regatta comprised:
- Open / Men's Race - Swift Coastal Quads
- Open / Men's Race - all other classes

Boat Classes
The event welcomed a wide variety of coastal rowing classes, including:

This true multi-class competition brought together crews from rowing clubs across the region. To ensure fair competition between the different boat designs and performance characteristics, final results were calculated using the OY25 handicap system, allowing every class to compete on equal terms.
